Caitlin Maged is a Northern Virginia native who grew up dancing at The Loudoun School of Ballet in Leesburg, trained for three summers at the Joffrey Ballet School in New York, and later went on to graduate from Point Park University in 2009 with a BA in Dance; concentrations in Ballet and Jazz. Following graduation, Caitlin became a founding member of Alight Dance Theater based in Greenbelt, MD and danced with the company for two years. She was a ballet and contemporary instructor at the Loudoun School of Ballet until 2017, and was Ballet Mistress for the Loudoun Ballet Company from 2013-2018.
In 2012, Caitlin began working at Tompkins Orthopedic Physical Therapy as a Receptionist, PT Tech, and group exercise instructor. In 2015, she joined BioMechanic Physical Therapy, where she was Tech Manager and Human Resources for seven years.
Caitlin received her BASI Pilates Mat certification in 2011, and completed the BASI Comprehensive Teacher Training Course in the spring of 2014. She taught private and group classes in physical therapy clinics, dance studios, and was an apprentice at Balanced Bodies in Herndon during her training. She joined the team at Loudoun Pilates as a full-time instructor at the beginning of 2023, and shortly after completed the Pilates for Neurological Conditions course, allowing her to work with Parkinson’s, MS and stroke clients. Caitlin pulls elements from her different areas of expertise to create well-rounded and effective classes, and uses her quirky attitude and sense of humor to make classes fun and help clients feel at ease.
Caitlin and her husband Dean moved to Purcellville in 2016, and now enjoy their home with 2 beautiful daughters and sweet dog Benjen. 2022 brought about some big changes for the family with Caitlin offering in-home Pilates lessons, and Dean making the decision to teach music lessons exclusively through his own business, JAM Loudoun. They are both very excited to continue sharing their passions with the community!
A Message from the Instructor:
In my experience working with people of all ages, I have found that physical well-being first begins with awareness. Habitual movement patterns, poor posture and chronic pain can have a negative impact on the way we feel both physically and mentally. Learning how your body moves, where your imbalances are, and how to let go of unnecessary tension, are all very important in developing the mind-body connection.
Pilates is for everyone. For me, the most rewarding part of teaching is when clients express how much better they start to feel, and the awareness that they start to develop throughout their everyday lives. Although I am an experienced instructor, this journey is a continuous learning experience for me as well. What works for one person might not work for someone else, because everyone's body is unique and should be treated as thus. Every part of your story is a beautiful piece to the puzzle. I love to share my passion for movement with others, and I can’t wait to work with you!
